Welcome to Hidden ("Hidden", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Hidden mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Hidden. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
2. Account Registration
To access most features of Hidden, you must create an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately at support@hidden-app.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. License to Use the Service
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Hidden app for your own private, non-commercial Bible memorization purposes. You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service.
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service.
4. User Content
The Service allows you to store verse notes, memorization progress, custom verse plans, and other personal content ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your User Content solely to provide the Service to you.
You are solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, or infringes on the rights of others.
5. Social Features
Hidden includes optional social features such as adding friends and viewing each other's memorization progress. When you use social features:
- Your display name and progress may be visible to users you connect with.
- You may only invite and connect with people who have consented to receive your invitation.
- You agree not to harass, spam, or misuse the social features in any way.
6. Bible Content and Third-Party Services
Scripture text is provided via the API.Bible service. Use of Bible content through the Service is subject to the applicable license terms of each Bible translation. Hidden is not affiliated with or endorsed by any Bible publisher.
The Service may also use AI-assisted features powered by OpenAI. AI-generated content is provided for educational and devotional purposes only and should not be treated as authoritative theological teaching.
7. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Hidden app—including its design, graphics, logos, and original content—belong to Hidden or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any such rights to you beyond the limited license described above.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it carefully to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
9. Push Notifications
Hidden may send you push notifications related to your memorization schedule and reminders. You can opt out at any time via your device's notification settings or within the app's Settings screen.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, HIDDEN AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $10 IF YOU HAVE MADE NO PAYMENTS).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hidden and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account within the app. Upon termination, your license to use the Service immediately ceases, and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hidden regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and representations.
